Description
Talk first given as a lightning talk at Singapore Open Research Conference 2022. NTU Open Research Award Winner (Individual) Abstract: As researchers, our goal is to communicate what we know and how we arrive at our conclusions. But scientific communication is changing – peer reviewed journal articles are no longer enough. New publication types allow us store and share the processes and products of research, from preregistrations and preprints, to data, code, and fully accessible research tools. By sharing widely, we create transparent, replicable, reproducible workflows. New media allow us to communicate with a broad range of audiences. By discussing our work in news and social media, we extend the reach of our expertise. And by sharing our educational resources, we can help each other train generations to come. We need to recognise Open Research as a powerful pathway to impact. The 2024 updates to this repository include the addition of "The Carrot Talk" video and transcript with full reference list. The video can be streamed with captions on YouTube (https://youtu.be/oEZZa5j8ydc).
