Biography

Dr. Chua is currently an Assistant Professor in Economics at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and the assistant Honorary Secretary of the Economics Society of Singapore. His research interests lie in the intersection of finance and macroeconomics, with a focus on topics in household finance, sustainable finance, monetary economics and behavioral macroeconomics. In his work, he focus on how the beliefs of different economic agents shape regulation and policy decisions in macro-finance. Current research topics include the role of bank regulation, green finance regulation, monetary policy, macroprudential policy, inflation targeting policy and inflation expectations. Prior to his current appointment, he completed his postdoctoral training at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the National University of Singapore and Masters in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a member of the Association Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
