Abstract

A numerical model was established using ABAQUS software to investigate the strengthening mechanism of operating highway using high pressure jet-grouting piles. The variation of dynamic deviator stress under different lane loads was studied. The settlements at different places were calculated. The effects before and after the strengthening, and the parameter study on the diameter and pile spacing were analyzed. The results show that the influence depths by single lane load and triple lane load before the strengthening are 7 m and 20 m, respectively. The effect of the slope on the outermost lane is greater than the inside ones. The dynamic deviator stress of the ground strengthened by high pressure jet-grouting piles changes abruptly at the depth of 15 m. When the depth is lower than 15 m, the dynamic deviator stress decreases with the diameter and pile spacing. When the depth is larger than 15 m, the dynamic deviator stress increases with the diameter and pile spacing.
