Abstract

In this paper, a novel approach for Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters design is presented by using high order exponential function to approximate the desired frequency response. The main advantage is its simplicity of implementation and versatility. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm has larger stop-band attenuation compared with the Park-McClellan's method. Finally, the example of multi-band filter design is also considered.
