Abstract

The first discrete organometallic tetranuclear μ4-PO 4 complex, [{(Cp*Cr)2(μ-OMe)2} 24-PO4)]+ (5; Cp* = η5-C5Me5), was isolated as the iodide and PF6 salts from the reaction between NaH2PO4 and [Cp*Cr(μ-OMe)I]2 (2), which was derived from thiolate methylation of [Cp*Cr{η3-HN(CH2CH 2S)2}] (1) with MeI in MeOH.
