Abstract
Ti-6Al-4V/hydroxyapatite composites have recently been developed as coatings on biomedical implants. The as-sprayed coatings are usually thermally treated in order to induce crystallization. We aim to investigate what phase changes take place during such a thermal process. In addition, the temperature, activation energy and enthalpy with respect to the phase changes are studied.
