Abstract

Cast-in-place concrete pipe pile is a new soil improvement method developed in recent years. It is often used for pile supported embankment. In this paper, a simplified analytical method is proposed to analyze the stress distribution for PCC pile-supported embankment system. Parametric studies are carried out. Key factors controlling the pile-soil stress ratio have been evaluated for further design consideration.
