Abstract

Various types of geotubes have been used in practice in recent years. Theycan be grossly classified into three categories: permeable geotextile tube or bag, impermeable geomembrane tube and inflatable rubber dam according to the fill materials and the materials used for the tubes. For different types of geotubes, various analysis methods have been proposed. In this paper, a classification system for geotubes is proposed. Existing analytical methods are summarized and critically reviewed. The applications and limitations of each method to different types of geotubes are discussed.
