Abstract
A time-varying model in the electromagnetic pulse source with high intensity is established and its numerical solution is obtained by using the finite difference method. Based on the simulation results, the optimized structural parameters are obtained and a prototype of the new underwater electromagnetic pulse source with high intensity is designed and tested. The measured peak sound pressure level (SPL) at the point of 1 m away from the transducer surface is 226 dB with the center frequency 25 kHz in experiments, and agrees well with that in the model simulation, which has a peak SPL of 225 dB and a center frequency of 24.5 kHz. Therefore, the time-varying model proposed in this study can provide theoretical references for designing and optimizing the electromagnetic pulse source.
