Abstract

The Nanyang Technological University - Digital Repository (DR-NTU) is built upon an existing open source digital library framework for creating Web repositories. To facilitate individual content access and submission, we have implemented a domain directory service enabled single sign-on (SSO) authentication scheme for our digital repository. This paper describes our unique context oriented approach based on domain directory services for implementing such a SSO scheme. Our approach can be further extended to create authorization policies for users sharing common context under an institutional domain. The techniques described here will be useful for other Web repositories having similar SSO needs for secure authentication and would also facilitate developing an adaptable workflow for content submitters.
