Abstract
The enhanced delivery of quantum dots (QD) to live cell labeling and organelle tracking was analyzed using epifluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry. It was observed that endocytosis of QDs results in sequestration of QDs in endolysomal compartment. The efficient schemes to deliver QDs to cytoplasm of large population of cells include delivery of QD/cationic liposome complexes and electroportation. The ability to target QDs to subcellar sites was also observed using known localization sequences.
