Abstract

A localized and release controlled carrier is essential to enhance the effectiveness of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) on bone regeneration and repair. In this work, TiO2 nanotube will be used for BMP delivery. Different types of TiO2 nanotubes were successfully fabricated by changing organic electrolyte composition. Large diameter TiO2 nanotubes were fabricated at high applied potential (550nm at 90V, 680nm at 100V) by use electrolyte for the second time with new substrate. Furthermore, using CNT as template crystallized TiO2 nanotubes with 300-500nm diameter could also be got with Ti deposition followed by a high temperature annealing. The fabricated large diameter TiO2 nanotube could be used for protein delivery testing in the future.
