Abstract

Cu-doped ZnO nanocluster-assembled films were deposited by nanocluster-beam deposition. Zn0.985Cu0.014O nanoclusters remained in wurtzite structure with size of 8 nm. Room-temperature ferromagnetism was observed in the Cu doped ZnO nanocluster-assembled mm. Moreover, it exhibited a large saturated magnetization of 1.37μB/Cu and increased to 3.68μB/Co after the deposition time was increased. The possible mechanisms on the observed ferromagnetism and enhanced magnetic moments are discussed here.
