Abstract

BaTiO3 films have been deposited on ITO coated glass by sol-gel method using barium acetate and titanium butoxide as starting materials. The optical properties were studied by UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy and the results indicated that the films had high transparency in the visible spectral zone. From the UV-VIS absorption data, the band gaps of the films were determined to be in the range of 3.72-3.77 eV, depending on the annealing temperature and time. Electrical measurements revealed that dielectric constants of the films increased with the increase of annealing time and temperature and reached a value of 180, but the breakdown voltage decreased from 100×106 to 12.5×106 V m-1 at the same time.
