Abstract

Plasma spheroidized alumina/zircon mixtures were studied. Mechanical alloying and thermal spraying were used to form ZrO2-mullite. The results show that spray-dried powder with good flowability were obtained by controlling the parameters of spray-drier. It was also found that dissociation of zircon and amount of mullite can be enhanced significantly when plasma spraying system was used.
