Abstract

In the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM), Rapid Prototyping (RP) or 3D Printing, there is an increasing research interest in Selective Laser Melting (SLM) in the past few years. This review focuses on the SLM of non-ferrous metals such as titanium, nickel, aluminium and other metals. Besides discussing the materials that have been tested for SLM, it also tabulates the various mechanical properties reported in research publications for readers to have a good overview of the current research on this technology.
