Abstract

Subcarrier modulation (SCM) is a promising scheme to implement wavelength division multiplexed passive optical networks (WDM-PONs). We review prior works on SCM-based WDM-PONs, discuss the crosstalk induced as a result of optical carrier reuse, and then present a new architecture for reducing the crosstalk.
