Abstract
The noise reduction caused by the transmission through a thin rectangular panel into a rectangular enclosure for a low-frequency reverberant sound-field was experimentally investigated. The noise reduction in two different reverberant sound-fields excited respectively by pure tone and broad-band white-noise were measured for verifying some previous theoretical predictions. The comparison shows that there is reasonable agreement between the experimental results and the theoretical ones.
