Biography

A Romanian native, Mihaiela got her first taste of organic synthesis in the laboratories of Prof. Ion Grosu at the Babes-Bolyai University (Cluj-Napoca). Thereafter, she journeyed to Germany (Free University Berlin), Switzerland (ETH Zurich), and USA (University of Arizona at Tucson) for higher studies. It is upon her return to Zurich and the mentorship of Prof. Jay Siegel that she fell in love with corannulene.
