Abstract

The impact of installing and operating red-light cameras (RLC) are discussed. Red-light running violations and stopping characteristics were gathered before and shortly after camera installation along each individual approach. The violation rates were reduced by an average of about 40% after RLC installation but were higher during the weakends.
