Abstract
Deepfakes are a potential source of disinformation, and the ability to identify them is imperative. Using semi-structured interviews, this chapter examines how participants based in Singapore identify real and deepfake videos. This chapter contributes to research by shifting the focus from the algorithmic detection of deepfakes to human-oriented strategies from an Asian perspective.
