Biography

I am the Associate Chair (Faculty) at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. I received a PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Liautaud Graduate School. of Business. I also received an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer and Information Science from the National University of Singapore. I have corporate experience in systems analysis, data management, statistical processing, and business operations in the financial sector. My earlier research focused on investigating the affordances of information communication technologies in facilitating effective interactions among organizational members. Currently, I am actively involved in research on issues related to everyday human-computer interaction to enable learning, collaboration and social exchanges for school and work as well as in everyday life. More broadly, my research focuses on how digital technologies can be designed to change social and learning behaviors for social good.
